How it works

Three steps to a defensible answer

1. Type a name

A first and last name is enough to start. Add a date of birth, an age, a city or a ZIP whenever you have one — every extra detail narrows the answer to the person you mean, and misspellings and nicknames are caught automatically.

2. Get a clear answer

You are told the result in plain words: “No match found” after every registry has been searched, or “3 possible matches to review.” No counting rows, no guessing what a code means.

3. Review real records

Each possible match is a full profile — photograph, date of birth, addresses, offense history, physical description and aliases — with a link to the official registry record, and a plain explanation of why it matched your search.

Why here

Better than searching one state site at a time

Public state searches answer one state, save nothing, and leave the judgment to you. Searching here is built to answer the question you are actually asking.

One search covers the whole country

State websites answer for one state. A person who registered somewhere else is invisible there. One search here covers 100% of US registries — all 50 states, DC and the territories — at once.

Your searches are saved

Every search you run is stored with the results you were shown — who you checked, when, and what came back. That is an audit trail you can stand behind, not a browser history.

Narrow the way you actually think

Search by name plus date of birth, age give-or-take a few years, city, ZIP or street address. Spelling variants and nicknames are matched for you instead of silently missing.

Built for more than one person

Add teammates to your account, upload a whole CSV list and screen everyone on it at once, and move to the full API whenever your own system is ready — same account, same data.

FAQ

Searching the registry

Is searching free?

Your first 25 searches are free — no card and no sales call. After that it is $0.15 a search with no seats and no minimum, so an occasional check stays inexpensive and a screening program scales without a contract negotiation.

What do I see on a match?

A profile of the person as the registry publishes them: photograph, name and aliases, date of birth or age, addresses, physical description, offense history and any flags — plus a link to the official registry record and a plain-language explanation of why this record matched your search.

What does “no match found” actually mean?

It means every registry we cover was searched — all 50 states, DC and the territories — and nobody matched the details you entered. If the search could not be completed in full, we say so instead of showing a clean answer, so a clear result always means what it appears to mean.

Do I need to know which state to search?

No — that is the point. Every search runs across all 58 US registries at once. Adding a state narrows the results to people living there; it never limits where we look, so someone registered in another state still appears.

Can I use results for hiring or housing decisions?

Offendersearch is not a consumer reporting agency and results are not a consumer report, so they must not be used for FCRA-covered decisions without appropriate process. Use is subject to our acceptable-use terms and applicable law.
