The browser extension adds a screening panel to the referral you are viewing. Click Run screening and it searches the 58 US sex offender registries using the patient’s name, date of birth and state, then shows the result in the same window. There is no second tab, no copy-paste of names, and no separate login for each coordinator beyond their OffenderSearch account.
Already screened this person? The panel remembers the earlier result and shows it again without spending another search. That matters on a busy intake desk, where the same referral can be opened several times before a bed decision.
The extension sends only the name, date of birth and state needed for the search. It never sends a diagnosis or any chart detail. Because a name and date of birth on a referral are protected health information, a Business Associate Agreement is signed before anyone at your organization uses it. You can sign it in the dashboard. How the referral screening extension works

Sign the BAA. An account admin signs the Business Associate Agreement under Compliance in the dashboard.

Install and sign in. Load the extension in Chrome, Edge or Brave, then sign in with the same OffenderSearch account. No API key needed.

Open a referral. The screening panel appears inside the referral you already have open in your platform.

Run the check. One click searches the registries; the result, match basis and registry link show in place.

FCRA orders for background check companies
For consumer reporting agencies and screening platforms that make hiring or tenant decisions for their customers.
FCRA-regulated screening runs through FCRA Partner Access, a separate orders API for approved partners under a written FCRA agreement. One order covers a sex offender search, a criminal search or both, with the end user, the permissible purpose and your consent attestation recorded on the order. Disputes are an endpoint with a 30-day reinvestigation clock, and each order carries a consumer portal code.

- Every request travels over TLS, and stored data is encrypted at rest.
- The extension sends only a name, date of birth and state, and a BAA is signed before any use.
- API keys are stored as hashes and shown once. Issue one per team or environment and revoke any of them instantly.
- Monitoring webhooks are signed so your endpoint can confirm they came from us.
- Usage is recorded by account, user and key, so you can see who ran what.

What integrations cost
Every integration uses the same per-search pricing: $0.15 a search, falling to $0.11 for each search past 2,000 in a month, whether the search comes from the extension, the API, the dashboard or a batch row. Criminal searches cost the same. Monitors are $3 a month per person and $10 per address.
