The sex offender monitoring API creates a watch with one POST and reports every change as a webhook. Five REST calls manage it, and every alert carries the person reference and the record id that reaches the official registry record.

Signed. Every delivery carries X-Offendersearch-Signature, an HMAC-SHA256 of the raw body with your signing secret; verify it before you act.
One alert per change. Repeat alerts for an unchanged record are de-duplicated, so a webhook always means something is different.
Never lost. A webhook that does not answer 2xx is retried, and every alert stays readable at GET /v1/monitors/{id}/alerts.
What is sex offender monitoring?
A recurring, paid watch. Instead of searching once, you set a monitor on a person or an address and it is compared continuously against registry data. You hear about it when a matching record is added, changes or is removed, and never get a routine "nothing to report".

Your watch runs against every US registry in one schema, the same continuously updated data the search returns. Nothing to run, nothing to remember, nothing to re-key from a state site.
You are told when it changes
Each alert names the change and links to the official registry entry. Repeat alerts for an unchanged record are de-duplicated, so an alert always means something is different.

Watching a campus, a facility or a home
A school district, a childcare centre, a skilled nursing facility or a parent watching the blocks around a building. Set the address and a radius and get an alert if a registered offender is ever added nearby or moves in, without anyone checking a registry week after week. Districts set one watch per campus and route the alerts to the front office and to their own system.

Watching a person, over time
A facility keeping watch on its long-term volunteers, a family checking on a caregiver, someone who has just started dating. Watch one name and date of birth and know if that person is ever added to a registry. The one-time lookup answers "today"; the watch answers "from now on". Person monitors also cover criminal records. Alerts follow the person, not the listing: a resident, visitor or volunteer you monitor stays one alert thread even when a registry renumbers its records.

How do I get notified when an offender moves near me?
Set a location monitor: enter an address and a radius — from a single block to a whole town — and add whoever should get the emails. Your area is checked continuously against registry data, and you get an email the moment a registered offender is added or moves within it. Area monitoring is $10 a month.
Is this a sex offender tracker?
In effect — but you do not do the tracking. Rather than tracking someone yourself, you set a watch on a person by name and date of birth, or on an area, and we track the registry for you and email you when a matching record is added, changes, or is removed. It is for personal awareness only; FCRA-governed screening runs through FCRA Partner Access instead.
What is a monitor?
A recurring, paid watch. A person monitor watches one person by name and date of birth; a location monitor watches an address and a radius.
What does it cost?
Person monitoring is $3 a month per person; location monitoring is $10 a month per area. There is no setup fee and no contract — cancel a monitor whenever you like. If you monitor the same person in both criminal records and the sex offender registry, those are two separate monitors and are billed separately.
Can I monitor an area for criminal records too?
Not yet. Location monitoring covers sex offender registry data today — watch an address and be alerted when a registered offender moves nearby. Criminal-record monitoring is available for a person (by name and date of birth); criminal-record location monitoring is coming soon.
How do I set one up?
Two ways, on the same account. In the dashboard, open Monitors, add a person or an address, and choose who gets the emails. In code, POST /v1/monitors with the person or location you want to watch and the recipients — the full reference is in the monitoring docs.
How current is the data behind an alert?
The dataset is continuously updated, and every alert cites the record it fired on with a link to the official registry entry so you can confirm it at the source before acting. A monitor is evaluated once a day, so an alert reaches you the morning after a change appears in the data.
Can I use monitoring to screen an employee or a tenant?
No. This is not a consumer report, and it must not be used for FCRA-governed hiring, tenancy, or credit decisions — those run through FCRA Partner Access. A monitor is an unattended alert for personal awareness and safety — not an adjudication, and not a substitute for the process the FCRA requires when you make one of those decisions.
