How Family Watch works

Sex offender alerts for your family, one email at a time. No app, nothing to check, nothing pushed to your phone.

Add up to 3 addresses

Your home first, then a school, a sitter’s street or a grandparent’s house. Each one is unlocked while the watch runs: open everyone near it, with photos, whenever you like.

We check every night

Each address is compared with the night before across the registries that cover it. A new registration, a move in, a move out or a changed photograph is a change; nothing else is.

You get one email

The change in plain words, how far it is from your address, the photograph and a link to the official registry record. A monthly summary says “still watching, nothing changed” so silence never means it stopped.

What an alert tells you

A registered sex offender moved in near your child’s school. Here is what the email says, and what it does not.

  • What changed: new registration, moved in, moved out, or a new photograph.
  • How far: the distance from the address you watch, and which of your three it is.
  • Who: the registry photograph, the name as the registry publishes it, the offense class.
  • Where to verify: a link to the official registry record, named by the registry that holds it.
  • Never: an exact street address in the email, a push notification, a text message.
Family Watch · Oak Street Elementary · 1 miby email
1 new registration within 1 mile

Jordan Rivera, registered this week, 0.6 miles from the school you watch. Offense class: against a minor.

Family Watch FAQ. Before you start watching.

What does Family Watch actually watch?

Up to three addresses you choose — your home, a school, a grandparent’s house. Every night we compare the registry entries near each one with the night before and email you when someone is added, moves in, moves out or changes their photograph. The addresses are unlocked while it runs, so you can open everyone near them at any time.

How do the alerts arrive?

By email only, from support@offendersearch.app, with the change in plain words, the distance from your address, a photograph and a link to the official registry record. There is no app to install and nothing pushes to your phone.

What is the credit a month?

While Family Watch is active you receive one free check every month. A check is a full report on everyone near one address, or a Background Check on one person — the same credit the rest of the site sells on its own. Checks never expire.

How do I cancel?

One click on the Family Watch page of your account, or the link at the foot of any alert email. A confirmation email follows. Yearly plans are refunded in full within 14 days.

Is this a background check for hiring or renting?

No. Family Watch is public registry information for your own safety. It is not a consumer report and may not be used for employment, tenant, credit or insurance decisions. Screening companies use our FCRA Partner Access instead.

Which registries does it watch?

The 58 US sex offender registries — every state, the District of Columbia and the territories — on continuously updated data. Each alert names the registry that published the change and links to the official record so you can verify it.
