Send what you have. Name and date of birth; age or birth year when that is all you hold. Date of birth drives matchState: dob_match, year_match, age_match or no_dob_age_year.
Read the counts. sourcesComplete against sourcesQueried says whether all 58 registries answered, so a partial search is never read as a clear one.

ABA Therapy screening: what the law requires and what it doesn’t
ABA screening rules come mostly from state licensing, Medicaid enrollment and payer credentialing, and they vary by state. Where ABA providers fall under child-care or healthcare screening laws, those can include registry checks — Florida’s Level 2 screening, for example, includes the sex offender registries of every state the employee lived in during the preceding five years (Fla. Stat. § 435.04). Check your state’s rule for your license type rather than assuming one applies.
Because ABA work is one-on-one with children, often unsupervised and in homes, providers commonly screen more broadly than any single rule requires: before hire, at new placements and continuously. Out-of-state registrations are the gap an in-state check leaves.

Can a clinic operations manager run this without IT?
Yes. The dashboard is a search box — type a name, get the people who match with photographs and official registry records. The first 25 searches are free, and no payment method is needed to start.
We hire RBT cohorts — can we screen a whole class at once?
Yes. Upload the cohort as a CSV and every row runs as one search with its own result. The whole run is stored, so the hiring class and its screening record move together.
Does this replace our broader credentialing checks?
It complements them. OffenderSearch covers sex-offender registries specifically and is designed to slot into a broader screening and credentialing process.
Is this a background check / consumer report?
Not on the standard API: standard results are not a consumer report. FCRA-regulated use runs through FCRA Partner Access, a separately enabled service for approved consumer reporting agencies and screening platforms under a written FCRA agreement.
Do ABA technicians need a sex offender registry check?
Often, through state licensing, Medicaid enrollment or payer credentialing; the rule depends on your state and license type. Many providers screen regardless because the work is one-on-one with children.
Does one search cover other states?
Yes — one call searches the 58 US registries, including states a technician lived in before.
Can we screen parents or household members?
Only with a clear safety purpose and consent; this is not a consumer-report use and should follow your policy and counsel’s advice.
